Paklava

Ingredients:

  • 8-12 sheets filo dough
  • 100 g of melted butter

For the filling:

  • 2 cups of nuts (almonds, pistachios, walnuts, peanuts)
  • 200 g of honey
  • you can add raisins (optionally)

Syrup:

  • 1 cup of  sugar
  • 1 cup of  water
  • 1 Tbsp. of  lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. of  rose water

Preparation:

Put 1 sheet of filo dough in a baking sheet. Lubricate it with butter. Then another sheet. And again smear butter. Place a third sheet and lubricate oil, etc. Then lay out the filling. On top of filling to put sheet filo dough and smear with oil. And the same with the other sheets of dough.

(If you use more sheets of filo dough, then the bottom will be 4 sheets and top, respectively, 4, etc.)

Filling: Mix all ingredients.

Bake in preheat oven 180C about 15-20 (until the dough becomes golden brown). Cool.

Prepare syrup: Dissolve 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup water, add lemon juice and rose water. Boil until syrup thickens.

Pour cold pakhlava hot syrup.

Leave baklawa for several hours.
